History

WHO ARE WE?


CLARE bought her property in Nabq in 2006 and moved to Sharm in July 2007. She established a network of friends and colleagues who have also purchased property in Nabq. Like everyone who has been through the sometimes traumatic process of buying property in Sharm, she considers she is now a “Pioneer” and is continuing a steep learning curve on the joys and woes of owning property in Sharm. Her aim is to ensure that the joys far outweigh the woes! By accident rather than design, she became a key holder for some of her friends who are not permanent residents of Sharm, but visit their Sharm homes as often as possible during the year.

It soon became obvious there is a demand for a service which re-assures owners in the UK, that their property in Sharm is secure. As a result, Sharm Holiday Homecare was born!!

In her “previous life” in the U.K she worked as a city banker in London for 30 years. Clare has been CRB checked as she served as a School Governor for 15 years in an inner London school in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. She was appointed Chair of Finance and then went on to be appointed Chair of Governors. Since coming to live in Sharm, she has been an active member of the Sharm Women’s Club which has allowed her to extend her list of contacts. She also established local contacts during her first year in Sharm, when she taught English in the Sharm International Language School in Nabq.

MOHAMED is Clare’s partner, and having been in business in the Sharm area for the last 12 years, he brings a wealth of local knowledge and understanding to the business. We are aware of the importance of understanding and working with the local community and as such, Mohamed acts as the “link” for our services. Through his local contacts, we are able to offer very competitive services as we can negotiate local rates.

If an emergency arises in your property, Mohamed can resolve it quickly and efficiently without having to negotiate the sometimes slow and complex way of doing business in Sharm. We will resolve minor repairs ourselves and will only call on a tradesman if the likes of a plumber or electrician are required, and only after reporting back to you by email. However, our experience has shown that it is the availability of someone to carry out repairs “on the spot” which makes the difference. e.g. If rodents gain access to your property then it is essential to effectively seal the access point asap. After effective treatment, regular checks will ensure that an unchecked infestation, does not cause serious damage to your property and furniture.

Mohamed speaks English, Russian and of course Arabic. He has worked in the tourist industry in Sharm for many years, and therefore has a good understanding of the standards and expectations of U.K. tourists and especially those who have invested in Sharm.
